Every time we try to tell the origin and birth of Torrevieja, which many have even described as a “LEGEND”, it is also a must to talk about everything related to the accommodation in our town. Between the years 73-74, although there was already accommodation in Torrevieja, a hotel was built on an outstanding spot, where the nature showed its beauty and nearly aggressive virginity. This coastal area between Torrevieja and La Mata was known as Cabo Cervera. This hotel started with the idea of filling up its 35 rooms during the high season of the year. However, it was such a success, mainly among the international tourists who knew how to value this natural treasure, that the hotel very shortly became 50 rooms, as it is nowadays. Later on, a swimming pool was added, which was an important fact to consolidate the hotel as a second residence for the international tourists. Its comfortable rooms, the food and the personal touch created an environment which made the personnel and the clients feel like a big family. HOTEL BERLIN was its original name, and it became a big school for many who today own well-known restaurants in Torrevieja. In 1983 the company Masa International bought the hotel to be able to attend to its clients in the area of Torrevieja, where it had established itself as a builder-promoter.Although the hotel changed its name from Hotel Berlin to Hotel Masa International, this did not mean that the hotel was only to be used for Masa International clients. On the contrary, they receive independent clients from all around the world. The Management of Hotel Masa is aware of its responsibility for the clients and promotes the continuous training of the personnel and at the same time introduces new changes to maintain the quality and service. Between years 2003 and 2004 there was a complete refurbishment of the Hotel and its fittings. |
